At The Wire Farm

About The Project

TC Architects is currently working with the Owners of “At The Wire Farm” in Portage County.  This 100 acre, new facility will become Northeastern Ohio’s Premier Equine Training Facility.

The master plan currently includes a half mile track with a 30’ wide sand jogging track, (4) 96’ x 228’ 50-Horse Barns, (25) Turn-out Pastures, a 96’ x 120’ Aquatic Therapy and Rehabilitation Barn,  (2) 80’ x 80’ Roofed Horse Walker Structures, a Trainer Barn located near the track and (2) Farrier Buildings with restrooms for the staff and permanent Residence for the farm manager. The site will also house large pastures, a retention pond and eventually a Residence for the Owners.

Manure and Shaving Sheds will be located adjacent to the barns, as well as Sulky storage areas.  An aerated O2 Static Pile Compost System is planned. Compost is designed to take place in 30 to 60 days instead of the typical 2-years. This will help eliminate the potential pathogens, parasites and weed seeds.

Each barn will include (6) 12’ wide covered entries, 24’ wide aisles, Hay Storage, Grain / Laundry Rooms, Tack Rooms, Wash stalls and Offices.  Each steel framed stall will be 12’ x 12’ with gate yokes, front grill mounts and removable feed bins.  Each barn will be connected by covered walkways to the Horse Walker and Farrier structures.

Due to the size of the massive undertaking ,the project will be built in Phases.  Phase 1 includes (2) barns, a Horse Walker, a Farrier Building , Manure and Shaving Sheds and (12) Turn-out Pastures.  Once the Training Facility is successful, a Bunk House and Event Center will be added.
