About The Project
TC Architects is currently working with The Stark Metropolitan Housing Authority to design a new Low Income Tax Credit Senior Housing Facility in Canton, Ohio. This new, four-story, 50 unit building will be co-located on a site with the existing Plaza Terrace Apartments.
The design of the building is to contexture to the surrounding neighborhood, which is primarily made up of tudor style buildings. The building will feature a covered entry, brick and stone accents, stucco and a slate colored roof. The site will have a community garden, dog park, water feature and a picnic pavilion for the residents to enjoy.
The building will consist of (21) two-bedroom units and (29) one-bedroom units. Of those, (3) units will be designed to be accessible and (2) units will be design for the hearing and sight impaired.
The building will include: a community room, fitness center, offices, laundry and mail area. The project will be designed to the Ohio Finance Housing Authority’s Design and Architectural Standards.
